The art of health. The science of happiness.
The Anthropedia Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, aims to promote health and decrease rates of lifestyle and stress-related illness through scientific research and education. Anthropedia creates and provides innovative educational resources and programs that teach ways to cultivate health and well-being. We work from the premise that physical and mental health are interconnected, and are linked with the health of society and the ecology of the planet. Our team of educators, artists, and multimedia specialists collaborate with experts in medicine, psychiatry, psychology, and public health to create comprehensive health education tools (DVDs, books, curricula, and workshops). Our resources help people foster healthy behavior, psychological resilience, positive emotion, self-understanding, and ecological awareness. They are simple, practical, and powerful tools that can be used by individuals, professionals, and organizations seeking a sustainable approach to well-being.
In 2005, the Anthropedia Foundation was established in Saint Louis, MO, and in 2007 we expanded to New York, where we produce our educational resources. Anthropedia has 8 board members, 15 advisors, 16 dedicated staff, and numerous volunteers. To ensure that the vision and execution of our projects are consistent, Anthropedia’s board of directors and advisors closely oversee the development of our resources. Anthropedia’s scientific and educational advisory board plays a significant role in shaping the foundation’s curricula and resources. The advisory board is led by one of America’s most distinguished psychiatrists, C. Robert Cloninger, MD, who is Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Genetics, and Director of the Center for Well-Being at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
We recognize the importance of early intervention and adult education in the promotion of well-being, and we therefore design a variety of age-appropriate materials. Our resources are available for purchase online, and they are also donated to qualifying individuals and organizations. We form strategic partnerships with universities, hospitals, schools, and non-profit organizations to ensure that our resources reach diverse audiences and achieve the greatest social impact possible. We also help professionals and organizations integrate our resources into their existing services. Our direct service territories include Missouri, New York, and Colorado, and our Internet-based distribution allows us to deliver resources globally. Currently, our resources are available in English and French, and soon they will be available in Spanish. By creating effective educational tools and forming partnerships, we aspire to promote well-being on a global level and empower individuals of all ages to find greater fulfillment and live happier, healthier lives.
Applying the most recent discoveries in their fields, our specialists develop unique methods and programs that provide the most comprehensive approach to well-being to date.
